IRSE-IRSTE International Railway Convention & Exhibition 2026 Concludes in New Delhi with Landmark Focus on AI-Driven Railway Transformation
The IRSE-IRSTE International Railway Convention & Exhibition 2026 concluded in New Delhi at Bharat Mandapam after three days of high-level discussions, innovation showcases, and global networking. The event highlighted AI-driven railway systems, modernization initiatives, international cooperation, and India’s growing leadership in advanced railway technologies.
Organized jointly by IRSE (Indian Section) and IRSTE (India) under the aegis of the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, the convention brought together senior officials from Indian Railways, policymakers, international railway administrations, technology leaders, industry experts, researchers, and global companies engaged in railway infrastructure, signalling systems, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, cloud computing, cybersecurity, automation, and smart mobility solutions.
Centred on the theme “Designing, Developing and Manufacturing AI-Driven Next Generation Railway Control, Command and Signalling Systems for a Viksit Bharat,” the event highlighted India’s commitment to building a modern, safe, efficient, and globally competitive railway ecosystem powered by indigenous innovation and advanced technologies. Over three days, the convention featured high-level plenary sessions, technical conferences, expert panel discussions, industry exhibitions, live product demonstrations, and extensive business networking opportunities.
The convention formally commenced with a grand inaugural function on 10 June 2026, attended by several distinguished dignitaries and senior railway officials, including Vivek Gupta, Member Infrastructure, Railway Board; His Excellency Tran Thanh Tung, Chargé d’Affaires of Vietnam in India; K. V. Reddy, Additional Member (Signal), Railway Board; Shailesh Gupta, Additional Member (Telecom), Railway Board; Anshul Gupta, Secretary of the Association, IRSE Indian Section; and Sanjai Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of RailTel Corporation of India Limited, among others.
The inaugural evening also featured cultural performances by noted entertainment artists Sugandha Mishra and Dr. Sanket Bhosale, who delivered comedy acts and musical performances that added a vibrant cultural dimension to the convention.
The exhibition segment hosted more than 100 leading companies showcasing innovations in railway signalling, train traffic management systems, telecommunications, predictive maintenance, artificial intelligence-driven operations, digital twin technologies, cybersecurity systems, intelligent transportation solutions, and indigenous railway technologies.
The convention gained special significance amid Indian Railways’ ongoing modernization and capacity expansion initiatives, including indigenous train protection systems, digital railway operations, high-speed and semi-high-speed corridors, dedicated freight networks, and next-generation signalling technologies.
It also served as a major platform for strengthening international cooperation in the railway sector, with delegations from various countries across the Asia-Pacific region engaging in discussions on railway modernization, technology transfer, skill development, and capacity building.
Speaking on the occasion, Anshul Gupta, Secretary of the Association, IRSE Indian Section and Advisor at RailTel Corporation of India Limited under the Ministry of Railways, stated that India is emerging as a global hub for railway technology and innovation. He emphasized that the convention provided a unique platform for global stakeholders to exchange ideas, showcase innovations, and build partnerships aligned with India’s vision of world-class railway infrastructure driven by indigenous development, digital transformation, and international collaboration.
A key highlight of the exhibition was the Best Booth Competition, where participating companies were evaluated by an eminent jury comprising senior railway officials and technocrats on criteria including booth design, visual appeal, product presentation, innovation, technology display, and visitor engagement. JMV was awarded first place, while TATA NOVA and GG TRONICS secured second and third positions respectively.
The convention was curated by internationally acclaimed filmmaker, cultural diplomat, and festival curator Captain Rahul Bali and professionally managed by Innovations India Advertising & Events Private Limited.
At the conclusion of the event, Captain Rahul Bali stated that Indian Railways stands as a symbol of national pride and that Indian railway companies have developed world-class technologies capable of serving global markets. He emphasized the importance of showcasing India’s railway expertise internationally to expand global partnerships and business opportunities.
He further noted that upcoming initiatives such as the Namaste New Zealand Festival 2026 and the Namaste Vietnam Festival 2026, curated under the aegis of respective Indian missions, will provide significant platforms for Indian railway, mobility, and technology companies to engage with international stakeholders and strengthen global cooperation.
As India accelerates toward becoming a global leader in railway technology and infrastructure, the IRSE-IRSTE International Railway Convention & Exhibition 2026 has emerged as a landmark platform reinforcing innovation, collaboration, and India’s growing leadership in next-generation railway systems and smart mobility solutions.
